i had the most amazing time. it was honestly the best 2 weeks of my life and i would give my right foot to go back :) the kids there are the sweetest people i’ve ever met and hearing their life stories was heartbreaking. i wanna go baaaack <3
this little boy is an orphan :) he was starving and really thin, you could feel in between his bones. we asked about his background and turned out he was in hospital but no one could afford his treatment so he was out again. he paid for him to go to hospital and turns out he was severely malnourished, had tonsillitis and had malaria. we paid for his treatment and by the end of our trip (which was when this picture was taken) he was noticeably stronger physically and happier :)
this little girl is HIV positive, and so is her mum. we visited her home where we met her mum who was beaten by her boyfriend while she was pregnant and she’s been suffering from a miscarriage for a few months now. she can’t work because of it so doesn’t have any money coming in. the boyfriend also beat this little girl, and kicked her 2 front teeth in :( she’s so sweet though <3
people actually live here. there were kids running round with no shoes on :( and pigs swarming the place. it smelt so bad you physically couldn’t breathe
